  1. These comments are in reference to the drawing of the oval shapes and the fabric representation of same.
    This was in response to exercise #3 in which we were to create an abstract composition with shape, integrating the shapes into the background.

    After much trial and error in the drawing stage I found that the straight horizontal lines worked best. On paper it seemed that I would be using blocks of color as indicated by the lines. However, in translating this into fabric, I found a wonderfully subtle(or so I thought) fabric for the background that provided textural depth and that all that is needed were three straight lines on the bottom and, at the groups suggestion, I'll add three, possibly vertical lines to the top left of the shapes. This has been a very useful exercise in that we focused more on the background that on the focus.
